In August 2023, I had the thought that if only I had a ruler along the back of my crochet hook I would be able to check my gauge on the go without carrying a ruler or measuring tape. And that's how this wild hook journey began.
I've spent over two years working with a Texas-based production company to create exactly the crochet hooks I had envisioned.
We spent months deciding on the overall length and shape of the hooks, the taper of the hook shaft, the total weight of the hook and how to get them as lightweight as possible, as well as the distribution of that weight.
I worked with a color specialist to curate multiple color palettes that blend beautifully from smallest (4mm) to largest (6mm) with clearly marked sizing on the front and a nicely contrasted 4" (10cm) ruler along the back - perfect for checking your gauge on the go.
Hook sets are available in the Peach palette with Rose Gold aluminum or the Blue palette with the Silver aluminum. More palettes and aluminum options to come!
Each set comes in its own zippered hard case with additional storage. Sizes include: 4mm, 4.5mm, 5mm, 5.5mm, 6mm.

These gorgeous hooks were designed to be lightweight and perfectly balanced to sit comfortably in the hand. I chose a grade of brushed aluminum that is polished just enough to simply glide through the stitches like butter.
The thumb rest offers an ergonomic design that plays perfectly with the weight distribution of the hook and the silicon handle provides just enough grip to crochet with speed and confidence.
My new hooks are GORGEOUS and I love them. The handle/grip feels very much like the Clover Amour handles (which makes sense because both are silicone), although these new ones are more cylindrical (less variation in shape than the Amours). The handles/grips are longer than the Amours by about 1/2". Both of those changes are an improvement IMO. For the past 3 or so years, I have been using custom made, wood handle hooks with Clover heads. As much as I love them, the lighter weight, consistent handle thickness, and perfect balance of my new hooks makes them the leader. Add in the ruler on the handle and it's game over. No contest. The case needs to be mentioned, too. When was the last time your new hooks came in their very own, custom fit case? It's a wonderful bonus and no way to lose my new favorite hooks.

These hooks are perfect! From the weight of them, the shape of the handle, to the smoothness of the hook, not to mention the ruler and fast delivery, I have zero complaints. I like them more than my clovers and tulips. I went back and ordered the rose gold as well!

I absolutely love how mine work through the yarn. My only thing is I feel like it had a chemically smell when I opened them. I'm sure that'll work out in time. The size is amazing, and I love how light weight they. Typically I use the ones from hobby lobby. But these are great. Thank you for creating something awesome for an everyday crocheting. sI purchased these hooks about a week ago. They were shipped & received very quickly. I am very happy with them. They're pretty & great to work with. They feel as comfortable to me as my favorite Clover hooks. I would definitely recommend them. I understand the price point is a bit high, but for me it's worth it to support small businesses.
Beautiful set of crochet hooks! Well balanced, smooth with a long enough shaft and a comfortable handle. Love that these were designed with a crocheter in mind and have the convenience of a ruler on the handle for measuring gauge. I hope she'll decide to do another set with larger and smaller hooks.
Order came soooo quickly! I've already made use of the ruler. I'm working on a scrap blanket and some yarns seem to split easily. NOT with Ashlea's hooks.

These hooks have quickly become my favorite! The handle feels good in my hand and the hook just glides right along like butter. The ruler on the handle is simply the best idea ever! Ashlea truly put her all into designing these hooks! I also love the case. It’s sturdy and roomy enough to add other things such as stitch markers and needles. I 100% recommend these hooks!

I didn’t think I would ever find hooks that I liked better than my Tulip hooks which I have used for several years now. But I have! I love these hooks! I especially love the length. They set so nicely in my hand and have eliminated the wrist discomfort I get when I’ve crocheted for several hours. They also glide nicely through the yarn. Haven’t done a swatch yet, but know when I do I will appreciate the ruler built right into the handle! I ordered the Peach and Rose Gold and love them! I’m anxious to see the purple one! Someone mentioned wanting pink, but the peach ones are very delicate in color and look pink to me!

Some have mentioned an odor upon opening the case. After discussing with the team in Texas, we discovered that it is during the manufacturing of the case and the glues used to adhere the lining that this odor is created.
While this will naturally fade over time, we have put a plan in place to diminish this in the future. We will manufacture the cases farther in advance, giving them time to naturally air out before packaging the hook sets, as well as adding an odor catching packet during assembly.

The markings were taken into considerable account when designing these hooks. Sure, the ruler is neat but what if it rubs off? We decided on a laser engraving process that essentially "tattoos" to ink into the silicon. No printing, no stickers, but permanently engraved.
These hooks are made of brushed aluminum in a tapered hook design.
The short answer, for now, is "no".
I do realize that this set is an investment and trying one would be beneficial before investing in a whole set. I am working with the production to team to come up with a way to offer individual hooks, whether that is to try one before committing to the whole set, or as a replacement in case you lose one.
